DEVASTATING HURRICANE

The South Florida Muslim Federation is proud to announce a State-Wide wide effort to collect and ship hurricane relief supplies, in cooperation with 21 Mosques from Miami-Dade , Broward, Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Gainesville. Today on 09/23/2019 at 12:00pm volunteers from the South Florida Muslim Community will be loading a 20′ shipping container with approximately $25,000 dollars’ worth of Relief Supplies located at Masjid Jamaat Al’Mu-Mineen (MJAM), 3222 Holiday Springs Drive, Margate, FL 33063. The shipping container will arrive in the Bahamas that week.

Yunus Ismail, Board Member of Friends of Humanity and Project Manager for the Bahama Hurricane Dorian relief effort says, “While our thoughts and prayers are with the 400,000 citizens of Bahamas, we must take action and provide aid to them to overcome this humanitarian crisis. This is part of our faith and in our DNA. The Florida Muslim community established hurricane relief supplies collection centers at 21 mosques. Now that the collections are done and we will load and ship these important supplies directly to the Bahamas and distribute them to those who are in need with the help of our International Relief Partner, Helping Hands USA. .”

The Muslim Federation encourages the media to cover this important relief event so the greater American community can see the Muslim community working to serve others, giving charity and sacrificing our time to help those in need.
