Friday’s (September 8, 2023) 6.8 magnitude earthquake near Marrakech, Morocco has killed more than 2,800 people, injured thousands and destroyed scores of homes and historical sites
The quake is the strongest to hit the nation’s center in more than a century, and the worst destruction has been in isolated mountain areas. Some towns are completely destroyed, with almost all the homes in an area of the village of Asni damaged.
